I have been working across the artforms and with a wide range of cultural organisations since 1989, including the RLPO, Arts Council England, ENO, WNO, the Barbican, ROH and the RSC.
My experience and interests lie in audience development, community engagement, communication and consultation, arts education, evaluation and access issues. I am currently working with ROH Education (Thurrock) in Southend and Rochford, building on my Creative Agent role, PinPoint Create and Zinc (formerly Theatre Resource).
I live in Southend with my family, where I am active in the community through board membership of the Digital Exploration Centre. Previously I volunteered for our Sure Start Centre and urban regeneration company, Renaissance Southend.
I was a founding member of the Arts Marketing Association and served on the Board for several years, as well as leading break-out sessions or helping with the programming of the annual conference from 1995 to 2000, and from 2005 to date.
I was nominated as a Fellow of the RSA in 1997 and was awarded a post-graduate certificate with merit in Creative Industries Management (School of Entrepreneurship and Business, University of Essex) in December 2008. I completed and passed (with Merit) an MSc in Creative Industries Management in January 2011.
